Matched pair posing on my "model truck highway" sitting on the tonneau cover of my pick-up at shore of Lake Huron overlooking Mackinac Island. That's a Mackinac Island Ferry in the distance.
NC98399 as shown here is a 1/48th scale HobbyCraft plastic model kit. The kit is molded in both clear and gray plastic which creates a challenge to matching paint. I ended up removing the molded in windows and installed new glass after painting. The tail numbers were printed on Bare Metal Foil ink-jet decal paper, as were the "Marlowe Aviation" logos for the Peterbilt tractor.
At the time of the photos the tailnumber for the top of the right wing had not been affixed.
The real NC98399 resides in Texas.
The Peterbilt 289 is an AMT 1/43rd scale "Peterbilt 359" kit cut down to a daycab and single axle tractor. I omitted one muffler, airhorn, added plastic rod and bits for mirror bracing, turn signals and grab handles.
